) applies to the personal information we obtain through Samsung Health (the “Service”). It does not apply to information collected by other apps, websites or services provided by Samsung. ), and provides additional information about how we may collect, use and share your personal information in connection with the Service. In the event any portion of this Privacy Notice conflicts with the Samsung Privacy Policy and/or the Consumer Health Data Privacy Statement, the relevant provisions of this Privacy Notice will govern.

Information We Obtain



Through the Service, we only collect the information described in this Privacy Notice. For any health information we may collect, we obtain your prior, opt-in consent before collecting it. Please see the Health Information section below for more information. We may obtain information about you in various ways, and the types of personal information we may obtain include:

Information You Provide Directly

• Account profile information (such as contact information, demographic information, profile settings and postings);
• Health and wellness-related information (such as body measurements, biometric indicators, metabolic and vascular data, and information related to sleep, mood, respiration, stress and reproductive health);
• Fitness and nutrition-related information (such as exercise and activity data, and dietary and hydration data);
• Medication information (such as details about medications, schedules and records related to medication intake, and relevant lifestyle factors for drug interaction information);
• Information about and from Samsung or third-party devices and apps you choose to connect to the Service (such as third-party device manufacturers, models, and identifiers, and third-party app IDs, including social media IDs). We also collect data, such as health and wellness-related data and fitness and nutrition-related information, when you link the Service with Samsung or third-party devices and apps, including when such data is saved to your Samsung Health app; and
• Content you send or receive through the Service, including messages you send and receive while using the Together feature.

Information We Obtain By Automated Means

• Information about your use of the Service (such as communications within the Service, Samsung Health settings, and usage information, including features accessed, menus and settings selected, frequency and duration of use, and any error messages displayed). We also collect any information stored in cookies we have set on your device;
• Device information (such as firmware version, operating system, and device IDs, including MAC address, Android ID, serial number, and mobile advertiser IDs); and
• Location data: Bluetooth and Wi-Fi signals and other information related to your location and with your consent your device’s precise geolocation when you use location-based features. Please note that if you decline to allow the Service to collect your precise geolocation, you may not be able to use all of the services or features of the Service.

We also may collect other information about you, your devices and apps, and your use of the Service in ways that we describe to you at the time of collection or otherwise with your consent.

Health Information

We may process your health information to provide you with certain features of the Service. For example, if you want to back up your health information or access your personal health records to transfer them to a medical center, we may process your health information for these purposes. Before processing your health information, we will obtain your consent, and you will be able to withdraw your consent at any time through the Service settings.

Some of these features may be provided through or with our business partners or service providers. For example, your personal health records may be maintained or retrieved by our service provider.

Together Feature

When you use the Together feature, you can choose to take on available challenges against other users of the Service, including your friends.

Your profile information (such as your nickname, photo, activity levels and friends list) is open to other users of Together. If you choose to sync contacts, your contact list is collected, and if any of your contacts is a user of the Service, that contact will automatically be added to your friends list. If any of your contacts is not a user of the Service, their numbers will be deleted immediately from our server.

You can go to Samsung Health settings > Together to disable syncing of your contacts, however, this will not affect the contacts already synced prior to your disabling.

How We Use the Information We Obtain



We may use the information we obtain through the Service for the following purposes::

Information Sharing



As you use the Service, we share the types of information we collect (as described above) to the following entities for the purposes described above.
  1. Subsidiaries and Affiliates

    : Samsung branded and non-branded subsidiaries and affiliates which we control or own.
  2. Business Partners

    : Third parties who we work together with. These business partners control and manage your personal information. For example, we may share your information with the content or feature providers, e.g., when you request a service or feature and it is provided by our business partner.
  3. Service Providers/Processors

    : Carefully selected companies that provide services for or on behalf of us. These providers are also committed to protecting your information.
  4. Other Parties When Required by Law or as Necessary to Protect Our Services

    : For example, it may be necessary by law, legal process, or court order from governmental authorities to disclose your information. They may also seek your information from us for the purposes of law enforcement, national security, anti-terrorism, or other issues that are related to public security.
  5. Other Parties with Your Consent or at Your Direction

    : In addition to the disclosures described in this Privacy Notice, we share information about you with third parties when you separately consent to or request such sharing.

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time and without prior notice to you to reflect changes in our personal information practices with respect to the Service or changes in applicable law. Information We Get



When you use the Service, we may collect, and you might share with us, certain information about you. These include:

Health Information

The Service may collect, use, and share your health information to provide you with certain features. For example, if you want to backup your health information or want to see and share your personal health records (for example, treatments you received), your health data may be handled by us. Before we handle your health information, we will get your (or your guardian’s) permission and you will be able to change your mind at any time in the Service settings.

Some of these features may be provided with the help of our business partners or service providers. Business partners are companies who control and manage your information, while service providers do a specific task or job for us or our benefit. Service providers help us hold on to or retrieve your personal health records.

Information You Choose to Give Us

• Profile information, including your name and number, date of birth, gender, profile settings.
• Health and wellness-related information (such as height, weight, heart rate, body fat, and other measurements about your body).
• Fitness and nutrition-related information (such as activity and exercise, food intake, and water intake).
• Medication information (such as information about your medicine and your medicine schedules).

Information We Get Automatically

• Information about what you’re using: information about your device, like what kind of device you are using, what settings you have turned on or off in the Service, and information that lets us know which device is yours (these are called identifiers).
• Information about how you use the Service: how, when, and for how long you use the Service and the devices and apps you connect. This may include health and wellness-related information and fitness and nutrition-related information.
• Information about where you are: We may collect information about your location, including by using Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. If you (or your parent or guardian) allow us, we may collect information about your location to tell us better and more exactly where you are (this is called geolocation). Your device will let you know when we are collecting your geolocation.

We may also collect other information about you, your devices and apps, and how you use the Service when you allow us. When we do, we will explain it to you.

How We Use the Information



We may use the information we get through the Service for the purposes below. We may not use your information for some of the purposes depending on how old you are. For example, the Together and Health Assistant features aren’t available to minors. We also won’t use your information for personalized ads.

• make sure it is you that is using the Service; • let you use the Service, including features that need to use your health information;
• make the service better;
• show and provide you with features you might like or customize, such as letting you use your workout routines from another app;
• let you ask questions and give instructions through or about the Service and respond to them; and
• if you’re over 13 and allow us, send marketing, including personalized marketing. Health information is not used for marketing.

Sharing Your Information



Where applicable, we may share your information with other Samsung companies, business partners, and service providers that help us run the Service. Sometimes, we are required by law to share information for legal purposes, or public safety. Additionally, we may share your information when you give us permission or request it.

Specifically, business partners are other companies who control and manage your information. They are content or feature providers, e.g. when you request a service or feature and it is provided by our business partner.

If you don't understand, please ask your parent or guardian to help you understand who we share your information with.

How Long We Keep Your Information



We don’t keep your personal information if we don’t need it. Your information will be kept for as long as it is needed to provide you with the Service, as required by law (government rules) or contracts (promises we made to other companies), or only for as long as necessary for one of the purposes above.

Once it is no longer needed, we will either delete it or anonymize it (meaning we won’t know it’s your information).

What Can You Ask Us To Do With Your Information?



If you live in the United States, you have rights and choices. You (or your parent or guardian) have the right to ask us the following, subject to applicable law:
- give you a copy of the information we have about you and in a way other devices can read this information
- update or fix your information
